Dr.Sivanthi Aditanar College of Physical Education was established during the academic year 1993-94. situated at Tiruchendur to Tirunelveli highway and is about 3 Kilometer from Tiruchendur Bus Stand and Railway Station. The College Campus Covers an area of 12 acres and is fully residential.
Besides the Administrative building, there are Class rooms, Library, Research block, Laboratories such as Exercise Physiology, Sports Psychology, Sports Biomechanics, Measurement and Sports Training, Educational Technology, Computer, Anatomy, Physiology & Health Education, Human Performance, Sports Medicine (Physiotherapy, Athletic Care & Rehabilitation). Men’s hostel is also housed within the campus. A multipurpose international standard Indoor stadium with wooden flooring, lighting is located within the Campus.
A two year Master of Physical Education Degree (M.P.Ed) course was introduced in 1993, one year Master of Philosophy(M. Phil) was started in 2001 and one year Bachelor of Physical Education degree (B.P.Ed) in 2003 with affiliation to Tamilnadu Physcial Education and Sports University, Chennai, Tamilnadu, India. College has been approved as “Physical Education Research Centre” from the year 2012 by TNPES University. The College has excellent modern facilities with qualified and competent faculty members. As per the guidelines of NCTE, the B.P.Ed. course has been made as two years course from the academic year 2015-16.

ELIGIBILITY AND SELECTION PROCEDURE:
a) Bachelor’s degree in any discipline (10+2+3 years) with 50 % marks (45 % marks for B.Sc., in Physical Education) and having at least participation in the Inter-collegiate / Inter – Zonal / District / School Competitions and as recognized by the AIU / IOA / SGFI / Govt. of India.
b) Should be medically fit & free from any deformity.
c) Should have secured 50% of marks in aggregate in the selection tests.
d) Age: Not more than 30 years (for SC / ST – 3 years age relaxation is applicable)
♦ M.P.Ed. Course
ELIGIBILITY AND SELECTION PROCEDURE:
a) Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education (B.P.Ed) or equivalent with 50% marks.
b) Should have represented the School / College / University / State in any Game or Sport.
c) Should be medically fit & free from any deformity.
d) Should have secured 50% of marks in aggregate in the selection tests.
e) Age: Not more than 35 years (for SC / ST – 3 years age relaxation is applicable)
♦ M.Phil. Course
ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION:
a) M.P.Ed / M.P.E / M.P.E.S Master’s Degree in Physical Education with 55 % of marks (for SC / ST – 50 % of marks).
b) Selection is based on written examination for 75 marks and the interview would carry 25 marks.
