Class Description

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The Department of Computer Science Engineering which was commenced in 1995 offers UG programme with an intake of 60. The department provides an excellent atmosphere for students to learn and acquire necessary skills demanded by the industry.

The department has experienced faculty members committed to teaching and research. The infrastructure development in the department has kept pace and state of art lab has been established to cater to the program. The department has been recognized as Research Center by Anna University, Chennai. A wide range of research and co-curricular activities undertaken in the department allows students to gain contemporary knowledge and experience about real life problems in industry.

♦  Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

♦  Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.

o Von Neumann Computer Laboratory (PG)

♦ Core2Quad, QuadCore, Core 2 Duo, Pentium IV, i3, i5 computers – 238.

♦  Computers are attached to the centralized server through structured cabling using ECAT5 cables and TYCO fiber module software manageable switches.

♦ 150 Mbps Leased Internet connectivity and WiFi facility.

♦  Servers include Rational Server, Linux Server, Backup Server, Oracle Server.

♦ Available softwares are Visual Studio .NET,  Oracle 11g, SQL Server, MATLAB, MS Base License, Visual Studio 2010, Graphics and Multimedia technologies, Networking tools  and Web Development Software.

♦ Softwares for R&D include ENVI/IDL, MATLAB 11DEP

The department library has 1312 books covering various areas like C, Data Structures, Algorithms, Networks, Software Engineering, Operating Systems, Object Oriented Programming, Internet Programming, Cloud Computing, Medical Image Processing, Cyber Forensics, Data Analytics, Big Data, Quantitative aptitude, puzzle solving, etc.
