ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering was established in the year 1995 with an Under Graduate Programme in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. During 2012 a Post Graduate Programme was started in Power Electronics and Drives.The UG program BE-EEE is accredited by NBA, NewDelhi.
♦ Mastery of basic skills such as subject knowledge, critical thinking, analytical solving, written and oral communication.
♦ Provide the technology, infrastructure and facilities to support teaching and learning.
♦ Support continuous Professional development for faculty and staff.
♦ Serve the students by teaching them leadership and teamwork skills and the value of commitment to equality, ethical behavior, society and respect for one another.
♦ Educate the students to work for the excellence
PEO1: To prepare the students for successful career in industry and motivate for higher education.
PEO2: To provide strong foundation in basic science and mathematics necessary to formulate, solve and analyze electrical and electronics problems.
PEO3: To provide strong foundation in circuit theory, field theory, control theory and signal processing concepts.
PEO4: To provide good knowledge of Electrical power apparatus and their applications in power systems.
PEO5: To provide knowledge on basic electronics to power electronics and their applications in power engineering.
PEO6: To provide an opportunity to work in inter disciplinary groups.
PEO7: To promote student awareness for lifelong learning and inculcate professional ethics.
PEO8: To provide necessary foundation on computational platforms and software applications related to the respective field of engineering.
PO1:Ability to understand and apply differential equations, integrals, matrix theory, probability theory and Laplace, Fourier and Z transformations for engineering problems
PO2: Ability to understand and apply basic science, circuit theory, Electro-magnetic field theory, control theory and apply them to electrical engineering problems.

LAB FACILITIES : The department houses laboratory with modern infrastructure and facilities. The laboratory equipments include different types of AC and DC machines, special machines along with drive system. Laboratories with Power Electronic housing and Computer facilities for Simulation with softwares namely OrCad – PSpice, PSCad, ETAP and Matlab are available. The students and research scholars can avail the facilities at anytime.
LIBRARY: The department library is utilized by the students for reading, study or reference. Library contains reference and text books, printed materials and video recordings. Books covering various areas like Electrical Machines, Power Systems, Special Machines, Power Electronics, Renewable Energy, Control Systems, Embedded Systems, Quantitative aptitude, Puzzle solving, etc are available.

Our Department has received an R&D fund of Rs. 7.71 lakhs from DRDO and IEI . Two of our faculty Dr.S.SivananaithaPerumal and Dr.K.Manimala have received Supervisorship from Anna University Chennai.
